The Hong Kong authorities announced on November 29th that all visa applications can now be filed electronically with immediate effect.
With this update, applications for all visa types (visit, employment, training, investment, study, residence, etc.) will no longer require applicants or authorized representatives to submit the visa application in person. The entire process of submission, payment, uploading of documents, and collection of the “e-visa” can be done through either one of the following channels: the Immigration Department’s mobile application, the ImmiD’s website, or the Gov.HK website.
The manual filing option would continue to remain available. However, the move to electronic filing will help reduce the need for in-person appointments aimed to better promote public health.
