As part of our APAC Spotlight series, we round up the latest developments across the Asia Pacific region. In this post, we look at the recent updates to Singapore’s COMPASS framework introduced by the Ministry of Manpower (MoM).
The MoM has released an updated list of recognised qualifications and institutions for selection when submitting Employment Pass (EP) applications. These changes will take effect on 1 January 2026 and will apply to both new and renewal EP applications.
Key updates include:
- Additional listings of technical, marine, and engineering qualifications from top-tier global institutions
- New listings for creative and technical institutions in Singapore
- Streamlining of business school listings to enhance clarity and consistency
In total, the updated list includes 15 new qualifications and 20 professional qualifications recognised as equivalent to degree-level credentials. For the full list of degree-equivalent qualifications, see the MoM’s COMPASS C2 – List of Degree-Equivalent Qualifications (Upcoming) listing. For the updated list of approved top-tier institutions worldwide and in Singapore, refer to the COMPASS C2 – List of Top-Tier Institutions (Upcoming) listing.
The MoM updates these qualification listings annually to ensure continued alignment with Singapore’s workforce and talent development objectives.
