In our Spotlight on APAC series, we round up the latest developments across the region. Following our earlier post on India: Electronic Arrival Card to Replace Paper Disembarkation Card, we outline the introduction of e-Arrival card declarations.
Previously, it was noted that from 1 October 2025, foreign nationals entering India were required to complete the e-Arrival card via the online portal or official mobile application, with physical disembarkation cards remaining available during a six-month transition period.
Effective 1 April 2026, physical disembarkation cards have been officially discontinued. Travellers are now required to complete the digital arrival card, which can be submitted up to 72 hours prior to arrival, to facilitate smoother immigration clearance.
