The current Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) allocations will expire on 5 April 2014. Sponsor Licence holders should therefore renew their allocation before this deadline if they wish to sponsor migrant workers in the next financial year. The renewed CoS allocation will run from 6 April 2014 to 5 April 2015 and covers the following immigration categories:
– Tier 2 Intra-company transfer migrants (ICT);
– Extensions under Tier 2;
– New hires currently in the UK and able to switch into Tier 2; and
– Migrants due to be employed with a salary in excess of £152,100.00 per annum.
Sponsors should assess how many Tier 2 CoS’ in each sub-category they are likely to need in the next financial year, taking into account the number of existing migrant workers whose leave is due to end within the next twelve months, in addition to all new hires and intra-company transfers they may require.
Requests should be made through the Sponsorship Management System and include justification for the number of CoS’ required. It should be made in good time prior to 5 April 2014 to avoid any delays in renewing the allocation. The current allocated limits will expire on 5 April and will not be available after the expiry date. Sponsors can also request additional certificates throughout the year should this prove necessary.
